07/30/2021 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (HS) Sean continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.31 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and presents a soft mitt out front and utilizes his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact and stays inside the ball through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel.

11/01/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Louisville, KY Sean continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the dish, Pop times showed in 2.37 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. he presents a firm mitt and sticks balls in the zone. He will benefit by creating better angles in his chest to deaden balls through the blocking process. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

10/24/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - OH (HS) Sean is a lean SS/C who will graduate in 2023. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in 2.36 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is plus as he is very coachable, works hard, and comes to the field ready to play everyday. With 3 years to further develop, Sean has potential with time and room to progress his game.

04/22/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Louisville, KY Sean is a young, 2-way player with a thin frame. Behind the plate, Sean holds a low target, he tracks the ball well, and moves well laterally. He keeps the ball in front when blocking, his exchange is clean, and throws with accuracy from a long arm action. In the OF, Sean has active footwork, he attacks ground balls aggressively, and works behind fly balls well. He has a clean release with accuracy to his target. Offensively, Sean has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and a level swing path. He has a direct/level swing to the ball and makes consistent contact. Sean can further improve skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
