06/08/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Sean is a RHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, Sean gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes square to his target. Sean shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph. Breaking ball sits from 65-68mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 67-70mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Sean is a solid prospect who should find success going into his junior season.

11/25/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Pearland (Houston), TX Sean is a tall RHP/3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Sean shows quick footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with good carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to solid contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Sean gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a free arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Sean shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 60-63mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 70-73mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Sean is a solid prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

06/23/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Sean is a tall and talented 2021 2-way prospect. At 2B, Sean has an active prep step and has efficient lateral movement to the ball. He makes the routine play and makes accurate throws. Continuing to field the ball in front of his body and funneling the ball into his glove, will allow him to have a clean exchange when throwing. At the plate, Sean starts in a squared stance and loads his hands into the drive position. He keeps his head still, has good pitch recognition, and stays balanced through contact. On the bump, Sean gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a loose arm action. He has good tempo in his delivery and rides his back leg toward the plate. Continuing to work north to south and having a strong front side will allow him to pound the bottom half of the zone. Sean will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/19/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Pearland (Houston), TX Sean is a lean, athletic two-way prospect who is currently more advanced as a second baseman. He is advanced as hitter with impressive bat to ball ability along with pop to hit for extra bases. He is balanced with smooth actions in the box, loading to a stacked position and launching on a level plane. He has feel for the barrel and consistently hits the ball hard with gap pop and potential for power. At second, he is very reliable with clean hands to make plays to both sides of his body. He is advanced turning the DP with quick hands to make accurate feeds and fast turns up the middle. On the bump, this RHP works all quadrants of the zone with a three pitch mix, repeating his delivery well. He features a fastball in the upper 60's and complements it with an 10-4curveball and a changeup with good downward action. Extending through his release while working down on the mound will result in better command. Sean is a talented player we look forward to following as he continues to develop.

07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Sean is a solid two way 2B/ RHP who will graduate in 2021. In the infield he uses athletic actions and fields the ball out in front. He shows a clean exchange and displays loose arm action when throwing to first base. On the mound, Sean throws from a 3/4 arm slot and shows the ability to pound the zone consistently. He throws a fastball that tops out at 68mph with good movement and deception. He also showed a curveball with tight 10-4 spin topping out at 56mph. At the plate, Sean is an aggressive swinger as he uses his quick hands to stay inside the baseball. Being more patient and waiting for his pitch will help Sean get better pitches to hit. Sean is a solid two-way player to follow as he develops.

02/19/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Sugar Land (Houston), TX Sean is a solid, 2-way player at the RHP/2B position. At 2B, he fields GB's in an athletic position. He gives accurate DP feeds with a quick/clean exchange to throw. On the hill, this RHP is a strike thrower, with a 3-pitch mix. He controls each pitch in and around the zone as he finishes strong in a complete/athletic position. With the bat, Sean is aggressive in the box. He drives his lower 1/2 and whips the barrel as he uses a middle of the field approach driving pitches on a line. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral quickness
2. Develop softer hands
3. Smooth DP turns
Pitching
1. Stronger frontside
2. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Develop bat speed
2. Extend through contact
3. More level bat path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
