Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHPPosition Projection

09/29/2021 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Youngerman has improved since our last viewing of him. He looks the part on the bump and displays excellent poise battling hitters; all the while showing composure. Sean throws on a downhill plane and showed command on all three of his pitches. Fastball sat 85-86mph consistently with curveball at 75-77mph and changeup at 77mph. He is projecting to be a power pitcher at the next level. Although he is going to pitch in college, he handled himself well at the plate going 3 for 8 with 3 singles against solid pitching. Sky's the limit on this 2022 Chaminade graduate.

11/21/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA Sean is an athletic RHP who has a promising future on the mound. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 79-83 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch with arm side run and sink. Off speed stuff are quality pitches that will get outs. Command / control is solid as he locates well to both sides of the plate. At the plate, he continues to shine displaying solid power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap to gap pop. With 2 years to further develop, Sean has an upside on the mound and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
