07/29/2015 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Sebastian continues to shine on the diamond. Defensively at 3B, he has active prep footwork and is ready to go right and left. He is aggressive to come and get the GB. He secures the ball and has a quick exchange to throw - firing the ball accurately across the diamond. At the plate, this righty has rhythm in his hands and remains balanced throughout his swing. He connects and drives the ball on a line, creating extension through the zone (exit velocity = 85 mph). Juarez is a hard worker who can make things happen when he steps onto the field.

06/21/2014 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Sebastian showed solid hitting improvements and an aggressive approach to the ball during his time in Omaha. Hitting grades are now 48's, showing good balance, a level swing, and fast bat speed. He has loose hands, good hit turn, and he works the middle of the field. Defensively, Sebastian has sure hands, good body control, and he gets good momentum toward his target. On the hill, Sebastian's arm action is loose, his mechanics are sound, and he shows a good mound presence.

08/05/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Juarez showed at 3B and for the first time on the mound at the event. Feet are active as he works around and square balls up, displaying clean hands. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to attack ground balls more, play through while presenting hands out front. At the plate, he shows an open / athletic setup with balance. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-75 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run / sink. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is developed through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be best player he can be.

03/17/2013 - College PREP - Plainview (Lubbock), TX Sebastian is a talented, young corner infielder who has a thick and solid build. Offensively is where he excels, showing a tall and open stance. He has good rhythm which allows him to get back into a loaded position as he lets the ball travel into the zone. He delivers the barrel quickly creating extension through contact. Defensively at 3B, Juarez displays active pre-pitch footwork and he presents his glove out in front of his body. He has the ability to make the backhand play, plays through the ball, and makes accurate throws across the diamond. As only a 2016 graduate, Sebastian is a player to watch as he grows in his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
