06/13/2024 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Sebastian is an athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / easy actions. He shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. He gets his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with bat speed (86 mph exit velocity), leading to loud contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Sebastian has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
