01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Sebastian is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Spring Training at Pirate City. In the field, Sebastian takes a good first step and displays active footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps them accurate with carry through his target. Making a cleaner exchange can help Sebastian improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and gets his hands activated in his load. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid pop to his pull side. Sebastian can improve as a hitter by taking a softer stride. On the mound, Sebastian starts with a simple rock step and gathers over the rubber. He is fluid separating his hands and works with a loose arm, driving his lower half through. Sebastian shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph. Breaking ball sits at 63mph with 11-5 break. Extending through his release more can help Sebastian improve as a pitcher. With two more years to develop, Sebastian has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Sebastian continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an uphill swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 66-72 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with early break. Stock on the mound will increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/29/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Jupiter, FL Sebastian is a solid, OF/RHP. Defensively in the OF, he takes efficient routes/angles as he tracks down fly balls. He gets square when fielding GB's and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber and has a 3-pitch arsenal. He keeps his eyes locked on as he delivers from a hi 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action. At the plate, Sebastian shows a square setup. He whips his barrel fast through the zone as he drives pitches with pop to his pull side. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral range
2. Develop soft hands
3. Play through
Pitching
1. Be a strike thrower
2. Work downhill
3. Arm strength (long toss)

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
