08/31/2013 - Little League® Experience - East Regional (Bristol, CT) Sebastian is a 2018 graduate who plays 1B and RHP. As a first baseman he presents a big target, squares his body to the ball and he has firm hands. Sebastian can improve by working on his footwork around the bag, lateral quickness and fielding position (he is too high and deep). On the mound he showed an athletic setup, good tempo and his separation is on time. Sebastian needs to get on top of the ball, stay under control through his balance point and finish his pitches. At the plate he displayed an athletic setup, good stride/load and his balance is centered. He has plus bat speed and he makes hard/consistent contact with a short swing path. He needs to use his lower half more and work on a smoother overall approach. Sebastian is a big/strong kid who improved at camp. If he continues to work and make the proper adjustments he can be a solid player in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
