07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Seth is a strong and talented 2020 catching prospect that worked hard all week. Behind the dish, Seth has a relaxed primary stance, he works behind the ball, and controls balls in the strike zone. When blocking, he leads with his glove, anticipates the ball in the dirt, and has good lateral range. When throwing, Seth needs to continue to gain ground, have a clean exchange in front of his chest, and follow through on his throws. He has an above average pop time but needs to be more accurate with his throws. At the plate, Seth starts in an open stance, he loads his hands back, and makes hard contact. He has a quick bat and looks to drive the ball to all fields. He needs to continue get to balance at contact and look to use the whole field. Seth will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future. He's got a bright future ahead of himself.

03/24/2019 - College PREP - Harmony (Pittsburgh), PA Seth is a solid, strong catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a quick transfer/exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.35 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He tracks balls well and sticks balls in the zone and utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic/open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Seth has upside and will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
