12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2
Seth competed very well on the mound and in the OF at his most recent outing with Baseball Factory. In the OF, he took good routes to the baseball, both right and left, and made plays with a sure glove. He had strong body control to get his body into position to make plays working behind and through to throw with momentum. Offensively, he had an aggressive approach and stayed in the middle of the field, going 5 for 8 in his ABs. His bat path was direct to contact and his hands & hips worked together to accelerate through the zone. On the mound, he mixed three pitches, a FB, 10/4 CB, and a CH with cut. He had smooth actions and repeated his delivery with a steady head. Overall - Seth showed very strong aptitude and athleticism, proving his ceiling is still high as he works to improve for the next level.
12/06/2015 - National Tryout Plus - McCook (Chicago), IL
Griesbach stands at 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds, and showed as a two-way player at this workout. On the mound, he topped at 80 mph with his fastball and got some arm side run on the pitch. His breaking ball showed some depth to downward action in the upper 60s, while his change was also an upper 60s offering with some arm side life. His delivery was balanced and under control, and his arm worked well back and through. He showed good feel for his fastball, but not as much feel for his secondary stuff. In the OF, he took good angles to the ball and worked through it well. His throws were accurate following a clean exchange, just needs to make sure to stay behind and on top of his throws. At the plate, he made a big increase in exit velocity (up from 70 to 82 mph since September). His stroke was primarily based on his hands and arms, with a long route to contact. He would benefit from improved lower half action and rotation with his core. Overall, a solid all-around player with some two-way ability.
09/13/2015 - College PREP - Oak Creek (Milwaukee), WI
Seth is a lanky RHP that will graduate in 2017. Delivery is repeatable as he uses his lower half well and allows his arm action to work long and well to the plate through a high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball shows a range of 75-79 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with downward action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Off speed stuff shows potential as being quality pitches at the next level as he continues to develop. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches, working both sides of the plate. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Seth has abilities with time and room to improve.
