12/27/2019 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Seth continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Fastball showed a range of 75-79 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/5 shape with late / sharp break. Slider shows tight spin and short break. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the OF, he takes proper / routes angels in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach and has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/10/2019 - College PREP - Midland, TX Seth is a LHP prospect who will graduate in 2020. On the mound, Seth gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Seth shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph with sinking action. Curveball sits from 66-68mph with 2-8 break. Slider sits from 70-72mph with good biting movement. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load and takes a direct swing, driving the ball to his pull side. Overall, Seth is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
