01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Seth continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.47 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls out front. At the plate, power potential has really improved through a crouched setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

09/30/2018 - College PREP - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Seth is a strong C/1B prospect who will graduate in 2020. Behind the plate, Seth presents a good target and tracks the ball into his glove. Setting up in a lower stance will help Seth improve as a C. At 1B, Seth makes the routine plays and works to make accurate throws to his target. Seth can improve as a 1B by quickening his footwork. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and gets into his load well. He works to barrel up the baseball and sprays to all fields. Seth can improve as a hitter by getting into his load sooner. Overall, Seth is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
