09/30/2020 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Seth is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Seth shows quick footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a quick exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into a small load and takes a level swing, producing solid contact. On the mound, Seth shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits at 64mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 62mph with arm side run. Overall, Seth is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/06/2020 - Back to Baseball Program Only - New Britain (Hartford), CT Seth continues to progress on the diamond. Defensively, he has active pre-pitch footwork and moves well into an athletic fielding position. Hands are soft as he funnels to a clean transfer to throw. He has the ability to throw from multiple arm angles. As a hitter, he shows a balanced setup with rhythm to load. He takes an aggressive hack, barreling the ball up and spraying line-drives. O'Rourke has upside as he approaches his junior year.

11/10/2019 - National Tryout Plus - East Hampton (Hartford), CT Seth is a solid RHP/3B that will graduate in 2022. On the bump, Seth shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. The FB shows occasional sink, the CB is 10-4 with early break, and the CH shows slight sink with a loose arm action. Pitching, Seth shows a high effort delivery as he works hard to pitch downhill. He strides slightly closed as he lands and rotates hard to deliver the ball with a clean arm action. Working on getting more extension and core strength to create more stability will allow Seth to be a stronger and more consistent pitcher. At 3B, Seth has active footwork and shows the ability to make the routine play. He fields the ball square with firm hands and makes clean exchanges to throw the ball. He gets rid of the ball with a clean arm action and delivers the ball online to the target. Hitting, Seth sets up in a square stance getting a short stride as he works hard to fire his lower half. He creates fast bat speed and shows the ability to be a power hitter. Seth has the ability to be a serviceable 2-way player and will continue to develop over the next few years.

06/17/2019 - National Tryout Plus - New Britain (Hartford), CT Seth is a 3B/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He drives through well with his lower half and drives the ball to all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed in the mid 60 range. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with grade break. He slows down arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Overall, Seth is a solid prospect who will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Seth is a talented athlete (RHP/OF) who showed well during his time at the Winter Classic. He is a coachable player who takes instruction well and is a quick learner. At the plate, this righty displays an athletic stance with centered balance. He swings with good bat speed, connecting and driving the ball on a line. He has a good eye for the zone proven by his ability to draw 5 walks in 8 total at bats at the event. In the OF, Seth maintains active prep and covers ground right and left. He works behind and through the ball, with accuracy on his throws. Continuing to develop his foot speed will aid in increasing his range in the OF. On the mound, this RHP throws a FB & CB from a 3/4 arm slot and clean arm action. He pounds the zone with strikes and challenges hitters to swing the bat. FB shows slight movement as he works it in and out while breaking ball has 11/5 shape. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
