10/17/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Shadix has a projectable frame at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds with a high waist and long limbs. He posted 7.09 in the 60 yard dash, and offers two-way ability. At the plate, he showed a short stroke with some quickness in his hands. He tended to have a sizable lateral slide forward with his hips, and tended to cut his swing off some out front. As he matures physically and gains lower half strength, he should be able to remain more stable and to work his hands and the barrel more through the zone - at which point he stands to see an increase in raw power. In the outfield. he showed easy actions and moved well though the ball to generate momentum to the target. Throws left his hand well and tracked on line to the target. He has room to increase his arm strength just as previously mentioned with his raw power. On the mound, he showed feel for a three-pitch mix. He topped at 80 mph with his fastball, showed the ability to land a low 70s breaking ball, and backed off on a solid low 70s changeup. His delivery is coordinated and athletic, while his arm stroke cuts off a little short out front. Overall, he is a capable all-around two-way player at present, but more importantly as a good athlete with a projectable body he is projectable player with the potential to make big strides as he matures.
