08/04/2022 - Baseball Factory Summer World Series at the NY Mets Spring Training Complex Shane is a class of 2023 OF prospect. He shows good size and strength for his age with more to come as he continues to grow. At the plate, he showed some good pull side power as well as an advanced approach for his age. He shows late bat whip as well as good lower ½ activation. In the field, he showed very athletic actions for his position. He did a very good job of working downhill and fielding the ball out front throughout the weekend. Shane is a very good prospect that we expect to see continue to grow and develop in the future.

03/27/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bronx, NY Shane is an athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (80 mph velocity) to his target but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through a closed setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball well, utilizing the middle of the field well through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Shane has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
