01/17/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Omaha, NE Shane is a class of 2022 OF/RHP prospect. He features an athletic frame with room to grow as he matures. In the outfield, Shane starts in a good athletic position helping him cover space. He does a good job creating angles to the baseball. Shows a good ability to get reads off the bat and takes good 1st steps to the baseball. Makes accurate throws into the infield. Could benefit greatly from a structured throwing program to increase arm velocity. At the plate, this right-handed hitter starts in an athletic stance. Does a good job creating a consistent launch by having an on time stride combined with a good load. Shows an advanced approach with a middle of the field focus. Hits line drives to all parts of the field with help from his barrel staying on plane for an extended period of time. On the mound, he shows a good 3-pitch mix. Delivers his fastball, changeup and breaking ball from the same high ¾ arm slot. Does a good job working down the mound. Fastball consistently found the strike zone working up to 83 MPH while his breaking ball showed 11-5 shape. Changeup was his best pitch in the 70-72 MPH range. Shane is a talented young prospect with a year left to continue his development.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
