12/27/2008 - Christmas Camp and Tournament - 2008 Wolchak posted 6.84 in the 60-yard dash, an improvement over the 6.93 we saw from him previously. He used his speed to make plays in the outfield, though he can get more out of it with improved jumps and angles to the ball. At the plate, his approach was balanced and he showed barrel accuracy along with the ability to get on base and make things happen. Can work to shorten his trigger and get his hands through the ball better. Plate discipline can improve as well. On the mound, he jumped his top end fastball velocity six mph, up from 78 to 84. It had some sink when down in the zone, though it mostly showed flat arm side run. He was around the plate with his fastball, but a bit inconsistent with his breaking ball. He relied more on arm strength than anything from his delivery. Needs to lengthen his stride, and tuck his glove side better to help him get on top and create better down plane. He wrapped his arm on the backside, and threw most pitches from a three quarters to low three quarters arm angle. Has ability to work with, and is a good athlete with potential to develop further all the way around.
