07/10/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Shaun is a hardworking outfield prospect who graduates in 2019. As a left-handed hitter, Shaun has a square, tall setup with a centered balance. He has a square stride and can benefit from engaging his lower half throughout his swing. Shaun has a short swing path and is developing bat speed. He is a contact type hitter who looks to put the ball in play. In the field, Shaun tracks the ball well and makes the routine plays. He gives a great effort and works to cover good ground. Shaun plays the position athletically and fields the ball in a high position. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot and is working to play through the baseball. Overall, Shaun has a raw, athletic skill set and potential to advance his game with development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
