06/17/2016 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Shea is a very talented 3B prospect who continues to shine. A pure swinger this righty steps into the box with a purpose. He has fluid rhythm and gets good hand separation in his stride/load. Barrel is whipped with authority as he connects with strength hitting the ball where it's pitched and driving it to the deep parts of the field (2 singles and 2 doubles at the event). Once on base he's a threat to swipe bags with a ton of speed - 60 yard dash in 6.65. At 3B - Shea actively moves from right to left around the GB and funnels the ball softly. He has excellent lateral range with the ability to pick it and fire strong throws across the diamond. Kramer is a solid corner infielder whose skills will translate well into the next level of play.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kramer showed as a 1B at the Preseason All American and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with the makings of a special type player at the next level. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved the most, now showing outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (93 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered as he works to keep hand inside the ball to utilize all fields and displaying gap to gap pop. At 1B, he is fundamentally sound, displaying smooth fluid actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front. Shea will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his offensive / defensive abilities.

04/19/2015 - College PREP - Lodi (Sacramento), CA Shea is a talented 2-way player (3B/RHP) who has a tall/athletic frame (6'2"/175). At 3B, he puts his athleticism on display working fluidly on the balls of his feet. He has plus lateral range making the plays to his right and left with ease. Transfer/exchange is quick/clean as he fires accurate throws across the diamond. With the bat, Kramer displays an open setup with good balance. Quick hands whip the barrel to and through the zone with speed as he hits the ball where it's pitched, spraying the ball to all parts of the field. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot. He works to a tall balance point, maintains level shoulders and drives off in-line toward the plate. He commands the zone and can hit his spots well. FB ranges from 75-77 mph while showing slight run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with late break. Changeup is best off-speed as he throws it with FB arm speed helping to create deception. Shea (2017 grad) has a ton of upside and is a versatile player to keep an eye on over the next couple of years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
