10/13/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Shooter is an athletic prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments during the Mid-Atlantic Hitting Camp. At the plate, Shooter starts in a crouched stance, has rhythm in his load, and gets his front foot down on time. He hits off a firm front side, loads knee to knee, and creates backside rotation with his lower half. He needs to continue to load his hands back into the drive position, and attack the inside part of the ball. Continuing to keep his head down at contact will allow him to stay balanced at throughout his swing more consistently. Shooter is very coachable and eager to learn. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Shooter is a lean SS/RHP who will graduate in 2024. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 52-54 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with early break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 6 years to further develop, Shooter has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
