07/27/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (HS) Silas is a coachable 2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Silas shows smooth footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Silas build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into a small load and works through a level swing, producing solid line drives. Silas can improve his timing at the plate by getting his stride foot down sooner. Overall, Silas is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

04/25/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Germantown (Memphis), TN Silas is a lean 2B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.18. At 2B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Silas has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
