11/12/2017 - National Tryout Plus - North Charleston, SC Skye is a tall and thin 2019 OF/SS prospect. In the OF, Skye has an active prep step and creates angles on the ball. He does a good job working behind the ball and gets into a strong throwing position. At SS, Skye has efficient feet, fields side to side, and works from the ground up. Fielding the ball in front of his body will allow him to continue to have a clean exchange, and make a strong throw across the diamond. At the plate, Skye starts in an athletic stance, and strides toward the pitcher. He has quick hands, stays balanced at contact, and hits off a firm front side. Attacking the inside part of the ball, and using the lower half will allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Skye continues to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Skye continues to show improvements on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a solid runner at 7.39. In the MIF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally, flashing range. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program and work to get rid of the baseball quicker. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive approach. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Barrel accuracy is a plus and uses his lower half well. At the event, he was 4 for 6 with 2 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, works hard, and is a great team player.

11/13/2016 - College PREP - North Charleston, SC Skye is lean SS who will graduate in 2019. In the MIF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up but will benefit by attacking balls more while playing through with body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 3 years to further develop, Skye has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
