07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Skylar is an athletic and talented 2023 2-way prospect that works hard. In the OF, Skylar is on time with his prep step, he creates angles to the ball, and plays through ground balls. He works behind the ball and makes accurate throws. He needs to continue to be aggressive to the ball and know where to go when backing up the bases. At the plate, Skylar loads his hands back, gets his front foot down on time, and creates backside drive with his lower half. He shows pull side pop and makes consistent contact. He went 3 for 6 this week with a HR, 2 singles, 2 HBP, and a BB. On the bump, Skylar has a simple delivery, he stays directional toward the plate, and keeps his eyes on target. He needs to continue to find a balance point, separate on time, and work north to south. Skyler will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

04/14/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Skylar is a big, strong, OF with very good skills. Defensively, Skylar has aggressive actions, efficient footwork, and he fields low and athletically. He has a presentable glove, takes good angles to the ball, and he throws with a loose/strong arm to his target. Offensively, Skylar has a tall/athletic set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He makes hard/level contact, has raw power, and he uses his lower body. Solid overall skills can get even better with work on the following.

Outfield
1. Avoid drifting
2. Finish throws
Offense
1. More lower
2. Let ball travel

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
