04/07/2019 - College PREP - Sanford (Orlando), FL Skyler continues to shine on the diamond. He only showed on the mound at the event. On the bump, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work loose / clean to the plate. He works through a quick tempo and shows a 2 pitch mix and throws strikes with all his pitches. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Fastball showed a range of 73-76 mph with sinking action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. He tracks the ball well and is aggressive with balls in the zone. Lower half works well through the swing and he makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side.

02/10/2019 - College PREP - Gainesville, FL Skyler is an athletic OF prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Skyler shows active footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. Taking less steps to throw can help Skyler improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and maintains center balance. He is smooth getting into his load and produces fast bat speed through the zone. He gets good extension through the ball and makes consistent contact. Skyler can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. Overall, Skyler is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

05/26/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Jupiter, FL Skyler is a OF/LHP who can swing it. Offensively, he stands in well with a solid base and centered balance. Barrel delivery is quick through a level path as he connects and drives the ball. In the OF, Skyler is aggressive and tracks down fly-balls to his right and left. He has a quick/clean exchange and fires accurate throws to his target. On the mound, this LHP keeps his eyes on the target and works in-line. He maintains smooth tempo with a consistent release point. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Load
2. Extension
Infield
1. Routes/angles
2. Play through ball
Pitching

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
