05/28/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Slade continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way (6.70 60 time). Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (92 mph velocity) on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field.

10/27/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Slade has one of the loudest tool sets of anyone in the 2020 class. At the UA Baseball Factory Futures South event he registered the following: 101 mph raw arm strength, 95 mph bat exit velocity and a time of 6.75 in the 60! On top of those measurable numbers, Slade has outstanding left-handed raw power. He does damage in the box with a powerful LH stroke that has natural loft and deposited several balls onto the rooftop of a building beyond the RF wall in batting practice. He generates this big power from a pretty simple and efficient LH stroke that allows him to utilize the strength in his 6'2"/212-pound frame. Defensively, Slade is versatile with the ability to play the corners in both the OF and IF. His best profile seems to be in RF, but regardless of the position, this is an impact bat in any lineup.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
