10/20/2010 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic - 2010
Spencer is an athletic outfielder with a strong frame. His actions at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic show some maturity. Good instincts in the outfield. Angles to the ball are solid, and his arm is quick and clean. Plenty of carry on his throws. At the plate, he has a strong base to work from and an easy load. Rhythm in his approach and a good middle-of-the-field approach. Swing path is inconsistent and his batspeed needs to improve. Finding a feel for his hands in the launch phase will help him make more consistent barrel contact. Good kid who loves to play.
09/19/2010 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK
Spencer is a thin, athletic, OF with good skills. Defensively, Spencer is aggressive to the ball and he works behind it well. He has decent hands and feet, and throw accurately with carry to his target. If Spencer can improve his angles, loosen his actions, and throw on a more downhill plane, defensive numbers can get even better. Offensively, Spencer has a good base and a strong approach. He has average balance and barrel accuracy, and has some pop in his bat. Spencer uses the middle of the field, and if he can keep his hands high and keep a more firm front side, offensive numbers will get even better.
