01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Spencer is an athletic 1B who is a top prospect on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and he showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. Feet / hands work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry (85 mph velocity) on his throws. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he displays outstanding hitting abilities with pro level power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick generating bat speed (86 mph exit velocity) through an aggressive swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. Spencer has potential and will get looks from the college coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
