09/25/2024 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic (2025) Spencer is a 2025 catcher from Delaware who showcased his impressive skills at the Arizona Senior Fall Classic, demonstrating a strong commitment to the position. He effectively protects his throwing hand and maintains an on-time secondary stance, allowing for quick foot replacement and high exchanges. With an arm velocity of up to 78 mph and a best pop time of 2.23 seconds, his throws consistently find the bag on time, and his blocking footwork is sharp, ensuring he handles tough pitches with confidence. At the plate, he employs a crouched stance with high hands, showcasing a controlled rhythm and late bat whip that generates hard line drives, achieving a barrel exit velocity of up to 94 mph. During the games, he reached base with a single, a walk, and two errors. Known as a natural leader and a great teammate who hustles consistently, college coaches are sure to take notice of his valuable presence on and off the field.

01/12/2024 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Sarasota Spencer is a 2025 C prospect out of Middletown, DE who showcased his skills during the Baseball Factory Spring Training in Sarasota. He has an easy sit with good body sway. Works his thumb under and tracks pitches well. He presents a good target with a loud mitt. He replaces his feet as he creates momentum on his throws to second base. Made accurate throws to second base, with good carry, and an arm velocity up to 78mph and a best pop time of 2.16 seconds. At the plate he hits from an athletic and even stance. Starts with good balance and has a level barrel path through the zone. A short barrel allows him to hit line drives to all fields. In live game action, Spencer showed good patience and plate discipline as he drew 3 walks. Spencer shows good aptitude, is a team player, and is coachable. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

11/11/2023 - National Showcase - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Spencer is a 2025 C prospect that recently showed his skills at the National Showcase in Palmyra. Behind the dish, he shows off efficient footwork and does a great job of centering the baseball. He gives his pitcher a good target and works under the baseball. He tracks well and is an impressive receiver. He has a clean exchange and he works hard to make accurate throws from an overhand slot. At the plate, he starts in a closed stance and has a short stride. His swing is very repeatable and simple and he displays smooth rhythm and timing. He does a good job of keeping his balance centered and has a firm frontside with his lower half. His bat speed is fast and he has a direct swing path to the baseball. He shows some serious raw power in the box as he recorded an impressive 94 MPH exit velo. He squares the ball up consistently and uses all fields. Overall, Spencer is an exciting prospect that we are looking forward to seeing more of as he continues to develop!

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
