11/07/2013 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14)
Spenser is a RHP/1B with an athletic frame. Defensively, he displayed an aggressive approach coming to get the ball. His exchange is clean/quick with good accuracy. Spenser can work on his overall positioning at first base, making adjustments based on the game situation. Footwork around the bag and making sure he doesn't stretch too early will help improve his fielding grades at first. Offensively, his swing path is level with a good load getting his hands back. Spenser shows the ability to drive the ball to all fields but will need to work on using more lower half, finishing heel over toe on his backside. On the mound, Spenser has a good pitcher body and flashed potential to have a solid future on the mound. He showed a good balance point, soft landing, and square direction. If he can work on staying level with his shoulders and separating his hands earlier Spenser will have a better chance of finishing his pitches. This will help with his accuracy and velocity in the long run. By making a few mechanical adjustments in all areas of his game, Spenser shows potential to be a solid player at the next level.
