07/13/2015 - College PREP - Carrollton (DFW), TX Stefan is an athletic (6'0"/190) R/R MIF. With the bat, this righty shows a balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. He takes an aggressive hack and connects with pop (exit velocity of 84 mph). At SS, Stefan has quick/active footwork as he hustles into a square fielding position. He gathers smoothly and has a clean exchange to throw. Playing through the ball more toward his target will help to improve his abilities at SS. Gardener is a solid player who should find success on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
