Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

06/28/2021 - All-In Membership - Bridge City, TX Stephen is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Tall frame athletic build with strength to the build and room to develop. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. In the OF, showing active footwork with a big arm. Good 1st step enable him to flip his hips and run down balls in all directions. Works behind the ball while keeping his feet active. Clean transfer, with a long/loose arm action in back, while working into an over-the-top arm slot coming forward. Accurate/on-line throws, while creating momentum, and an arm velocity of 88mph into the infield. A right-handed pitcher, who has long levers and a projectible frame. He starts 45 degrees on the rubber and works with good direction down the mound. Throws a "heavy" FB that sat 80-84mph with arm side run. Mixed in a breaking ball with 11/5 shape and good depth/tilt through the strike zone. Throws a developing changeup with some sinking action. FB was his best pitch during his bullpen. A right-handed hitter begins with an upright and open stance. On-plane barrel path, who gets knob to catcher, and swings with intent. Hits ball where pitched. Showed ability to backspin balls into both gaps with power and a bat exit velocity of 86mph during BP. With continued growth and development, we foresee Stephen having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
