03/29/2015 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA STEPHEN JUST ATTENDED AN ELITE BASEBALL SHOWCASE WHERE HIS FASTBALL RANGED FROM 75-77 MPH. Stephen continues to develop his skills on the diamond. On the mound, this lefty has on-times separation and stays directional toward the plate. He repeats his delivery well and fills up the zone with strikes. FB has slight run as he will get a lot of GB outs. Breaking ball has 'slider like' spin with 1/7 shape ranging from 60-64 mph. He finishes complete and in an athletic position. Driving off the rubber more with his lower 1/2 will help to increase velocity. In the OF, Stephen works into position behind the ball. He is sure handed and has a clean exchange to throw. Working on his routes/angles will help to increase his lateral range in the OF. With the bat, Foreman shows a balanced setup with patience. He hits the ball where it's pitched and uses the whole field. This 2016 grad has tools and is a few adjustments away from unlocking his potential on the diamond.

11/06/2014 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Stephen showed a good baseball IQ and hard work during his time at Pirate City. On the mound, Stephen has an athletic setup, he separates on time, and he lands in a good position. He has a good presence on the mound, and solid overall mechanics. In the OF, Stephen reads the ball off the bat well, fields in an athletic position, and throws with a clean arm action to his target. Offensively, Stephen has a balanced setup, a square stride, and he finds the barrel of the bat.

09/28/2014 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Stephen is a thin, LHP who will graduate in 2016. On the hill, Stephen stands over the rubber well, his arm is free, and he separates on time. He repeats his delivery, works on a slight downhill plane, and finishes in a complete position. Developing a full windup, lengthening his stride, and added arm strength will help mound effectiveness improve. Offensively, Stephen has a square set-up, an activated load, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a loose grip and can work the ball to the opposite field. Hitting can spike by not closing off his swing, leveling it off, and adding bat speed.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
