01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Stephen is a tall, lean RHP/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays outstanding defensive abilities. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus (7.12 60 time) as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip to his target. At the plate he continues shine, displaying excellent hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. On the mound, arm action is loose, free, and quick. Fastball shows a range of 80-84 mph on a downhill plane with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with sharp break. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stephen has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
