07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1
Stephen is a confident, high energy player who played 1B and RHP during Pirate City. Defensively, Stephen showed sure hands, fluid footwork, and the ability to field in a low / athletic position. He can pick out of the dirt, he gets his glove in a good fielding position, and he throws with accuracy to his target. On the mound, Stephen works quickly, he gets good extension on his pitches, and he is around the zone. At the plate, Stephen has a rhythmic swing, through an open stance. He has good balance, a level bat path, and he can work the ball gap-to-gap. He is a good teammate who brings enjoyment to the game.
06/09/2013 - College PREP - Troy (Albany), NY
Stephen is an average sized, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Stephen has quick feet, soft hands, and he fields in a square position. He attacks aggressively, moves well around the bag, and he throws with accuracy from a long arm action. Defense can improve with a quicker exchange and added arm strength. On the hill, Stephen has a long arm action, a controlled balance point, and level shoulders. He has good direction toward home, lands in a square position, and he throws strikes. Getting on top, and not throwing across his body can help mound effectiveness improve. Offensively, Stephen has a square set-up, he swings in good rhythm, and he makes consistent contact. He can work the ball gap to gap, and uses his lower 1/2 well. Hitting can improve with a shorter swing, a better load, and added bat speed.
