Stephen Oneto is a two way player who can really swing the bat. He shows a short, compact swing with gap to gap power. A strong kid, 5'10"/190 pounds with 88mph arm strength and 6.9 speed. Stephen shows above average tools to go with a high baseball IQ and high motor. Stephen shows the ability use the entire field and to adjust to very good pitching. He is a tough out. Defensively, he gets good jumps on balls and shows good carry and arm strength on throws. On the mound he sits 82-85 with a plus slider and above average change-up. Last outing of the fall Stephen punched out 14 hitters in a complete game shutout in Florida. Can pitch backwards and throws his slider for a strike with any count. National Honors society, 1400 SAT kid who is a mature leader who knows how to play the game the right way. Stephen is going to hit at the next level and in the right program contribute on the bump as well.

Stephen continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60time to date, now a 6.90 runner. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are aggressive as he work to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting / power potential through an open setup. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (83 mph exit velocity) as he connects with gap to gap pop. Stephen has an upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Stephen continues to show as a prospect in the OF. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his quick feet (7.28 60 time), covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip (86 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate he continues to shine. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, delivery is repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 75-77 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break.

Stephen is an athletic OF who is a top prospect on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (88 mph velocity) on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively and shows big play potential. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (82 mph exit velocity) as he stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. With 2 years to further develop, Stephen has a tremendous upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.
