07/23/2012 - 2012 Team One Northeast Showcase Stephen is a tall and lanky first baseman and spends time on the mound as well. In the infield, he has active footwork that allows him to play through the baseball, along with making accurate throws across the diamond. His defensive abilities should continue to develop as he learns to gain a feel for fielding the ball out in front. At the plate, he has an athletic setup and strong balance that allows him to spray the ball to all fields. His offensive tools should continue to improve as he learns to fire his back hip at contact to help engage his lower half. On the mound, he has good rhythm in his delivery and some good arm side run, along with a fearless attitude for pitching inside. His skills in the mound should continue to develop as he learns to keep his front side closed to help hide the baseball. As a 2013 graduate, Stephen has the opportunity to continue to develop his skills in preparation for the next level.
