01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Steven continued to show as one of the top of his class at the Under Armour All American event. At the plate, he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick (exit velocity 89 mph) as the baseball comes off the bat very well when centered. At SS, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions and a soft / sure glove. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. Steven will be a top draft pick in 2020 with his baseball abilities.

06/05/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Steven is an athletic SS prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At SS, Steven shows fluid footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing and drives the ball to all fields. Overall, Steven is a talented prospect who will be among the top SS's in his class.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament A quick-twitch, high energy player, Steven is a fun player to watch. He exudes a love for the game when he's on the field - whether it's in a workout setting or a game. He went 4-for-7 with a walk in Arizona including an RBI triple. He uses the whole field well, battles at the plate and can handle velocity with his quick hands. His feet (6.58 in the 60) work very well in the infield putting him into good position on all routine plays and giving him excellent range. His exchange and release are extremely quick and his strong arm (91 mph arm strength) finishes plays well. This is a prospect who makes those around him better.

06/05/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South This athletic SS shows a tremendous future on the diamond. A RHH- hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. He has strength (85 mph exit velocity) in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws (95 mph velocity). Defensive abilities are near a pro level as he shows big play potential. Steven has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Ondina created quite a buzz throughout the event with his loud tools and even louder game play. He plays fast, combining his 6.85 60-yard dash speed and quick-twitch athleticism to pressure the defense, steal bases and get to balls in the field. His actions are smooth and natural at shortstop with sure hands and carry to his throws across the diamond (91 mph arm strength). At the plate, Steven showed a quick line-drive stroke in batting practice while going 5-7 in games with a triple and three stolen bases. Recently committed to Florida International, Steven may have had the most impressive weekend of anyone attending the UAAAPS Tournament.

07/19/2017 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Steven is a talented shortstop prospect who has a wiry, athletic frame and above average skill set on both sides of the ball. As a right-handed hitter, Steven has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance and firm front side. He has smooth rhythm with an effective load and short, square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Steven shows fast bat speed with a direct, on-plane swing path. He gets good rotation with his core while maintaining a quiet head. Steve is a line drive type hitter who has the power to drive the ball to each gap. In the field, Steven plays with fluid footwork and quality reads giving him the ability to cover a large territory. He moves with agile actions and fields the ball athletically with soft hands. Steven has a quick exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has a quick release and his throws are consistent across the diamond. Overall, Steven has a bright future on the diamond with a talented skill set and effective approach.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Steven is a young, 2020 SS prospect from Puerto Rico with a strong arm and aggressive instincts on the bases. As a SS, Steven has active pre-pitch movement and gets into an athletic position to field with soft hands. He creates momentum toward his target and makes accurate throws across the diamond with good carry. As a hitter, Steven displays an athletic stance and takes a short stride to the ball. He is smooth getting into his load and drives his backside through. He squares the ball up and hits line-drives consistently. Steven has a ton of talent and a high baseball IQ. We look forward to seeing him progress.

12/20/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Steven is an athletically built shortstop prospect who has good talent and potential to get even better. In the field, Steven, plays with fluid footwork and agile actions giving him above average range. He fields the ball athletically with soft hands leading to a quick, clean exchange. Steven throws from a high 3/4 slot and quick release producing strong, accurate throws. Offensively, Steven has an athletic setup with a firm front side and centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and on-time stride. Steven has an aggressive approach and on-plane swing producing consistent contact. He is a line drive type hitter with potential to add power. Overall, Steven has a bright future on the diamond as he continues to mature and develop his game.

11/06/2016 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Steven is a young, lean, right handed hitting SS. In the infield, Steven showed advanced foot and glove work, as he worked smoothly and athletically to each ball, keeping his weight centered to remain light on his toes. Arm works very well for the position, as he made quick and clean exchanges after fielding the ball to make strong/accurate throws to 1st base. At the plate, he took aggressive swings while maintaining balance. He did a fine job of tracking the ball all the way in, getting his barrel to it quickly and then extending his arms through contact. Only a 2020 graduate, Steven already shows very impressive skills and will be very exciting to track as he gets older and progresses in this game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
