11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Stevie is an athletic 2025 2-way prospect that was eager to learn and has a high baseball IQ. At SS, Stevie is on time with his prep step, he has good actions to the ball, and fields the ball in front of his body. He plays through his backhand, he has a clean exchange, and gets rid of the ball quick. At the plate, Stevie has a good set up and has good pitch recognition. He gets his front foot down on time, he attacks the inside part of the ball, and creates backside drive with his lower half. On the bump, Stevie gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and has a loose arm action. He works north to south in his delivery and throws his fastball for strikes. Stevie will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/12/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Stevie is a RHP/SS prospect who will graduate in 2025. On the mound, Stevie gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Stevie shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 56mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 48-50mph with late 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 50-52mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Stevie shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a solid swing from both sides. He sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing and drives the ball to all fields. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Long toss
2. Add strength
Infield
1. Present hands sooner
2. Wider base
Hitting
1. Activate hands
2. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
