05/28/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Despite only being a 2022 grad, Stone recorded the highest exit velocity (102 mph) at the BF South Showcase and also hit the farthest ball in batting practice. With present strength and a balanced approach at the plate he hard line drives to all fields before turning on a few including a ball driven well over the LF fence, hitting high on the rock facade beyond the wall. The power/speed combo that Stone offers is hard to find (he ran a 6.77 in the 60), and with a 6'3"/220 lb frame, the sky's the limit for this young OF prospect.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Stone is a strong/solid/projectable (6'3"/215) OF who is fun to watch. With the bat, this RHH put on a display. He shows an open stance with active/loose hands and fluid rhythm. Barrel is delivered with plus bat speed as he squares the ball up and sends it screaming to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 101 mph). He will fit nicely into a clean-up type of role where he will drive in runs. In the OF, Stone puts his athleticism on display and can cover a ton of ground with speed (60 yard dash = 6.88). Transfer is quick/clean as he gets the ball smoothly from glove to hand and fires accurate throws on a line. Only a 2022 grad - Blanton is an exciting prospect to keep an eye on.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
