12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Taj is an athletic and strong 2B/1B, who has great raw ability. In his time in Pirate City, Taj was very polite and went about improving his game every day without any distractions. Offensively, he displayed a balanced and fluid swing, which allowed him to hit to his pull side with impressive power. Hands were quick and worked directly to the ball, as he loaded his hands on time and threw them directly at the ball. Taj can benefit offensively from trying to hit the ball where it is pitched and not be overly pull oriented. Defensively at both 1B and 2B, he displayed soft hands and solid actions on fielding balls to his glove hand and back hand side. Arm plays well for both positions also, as his throws were consistently strong and made on a line to his target. Improving the accuracy of his throws will benefit his play at both positions. Only 2019 graduate, Taj is already a very physically gifted player, who with continued hard work, will catch the eyes of collegiate coaches.

08/08/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Trenton, NJ Taj continues to show improvements in his abilities on the mound with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he shows smooth / clean actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. He moves well laterally displaying range to both sides. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front.

07/07/2015 - National Tryout - Trenton, NJ Taj continues to work hard on his game. With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup with rhythm to load. He delivers the barrel with some speed and connects with pop. More lower 1/2 drive will result in increased power. At 1B, Taj has athletic actions and works hard into a square fielding position. He gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. Working lower (from the ground-up) will help to avoid the in-between hop. Muhammad (2019 grad) still has a ton of time to develop his skills.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at the Yankees Training Complex Tai is a big, strong 2019 grad that projects as an infielder. In his most recent outing defensively, Tai showed quick feet with solid body control as he got into an athletic fielding position. He is a vocal leader on the field with a positive upside at the next level. Continuing to build knowledge about the positions he plays will take his abilities to the next level. At the plate, this righty hit with a simple approach from a square base. He showed some power potential with good BS and pop to the pull side. He is an aggressive player with the ability to swipe bags left and right. Overall, Tai is a talented player where the sky is the limit in terms of his projectable frame and next level success.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
