07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Tamoz is an athletic 2024 2B prospect that made good adjustments at the plate. At 2B, Tamoz needs to continue to be on time with his prep step and present a low/early glove. He needs to improve his first step to the ball and improve his footwork to make more accurate throws. At the plate, Tamoz has a middle approach and loads his hands back. He needs to continue to get his lower half to balance, create backside drive, and keep the barrel inside the ball. Tamoz is a smart player but needs to be willing to make better adjustments and be coachable at the next level. Tamoz will improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

05/19/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Sumrall (Hattiesburg), MS Tamoz is a young, athletic, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and catcher. In the INF, Tamoz has a presentable glove, he has fluid footwork to the ball, and he fields in a low/square position. He works through the ball well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and momentum to his target. Behind the plate, Tamoz tracks well, and he sits in low and easy. He sticks the ball well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a short arm action to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.63 seconds. Offensively, Tamoz has a tall/square set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a short/fast bat path, he works the middle of the field, and he gets his lower body through. Overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Avoid rushing
2. Play more through
Catching
1. Accuracy
2. Range
3. Footwork
Offense
1. Contact points
2. Load

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
