09/29/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Sanford (Orlando), FL Tanielu is a RHP/3B prospect who will graduate in 2026. On the mound, Tanielu gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Tanielu shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 60mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits at 54mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 59-60mph. In the field, Tanielu shows active footwork and covers ground well. He makes the routine plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Keep eyes on target
2. Long toss
Fielding
1. Lower fielding position
2. Present hands out front
Hitting
1. Center balance
2. Add strength

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
