07/18/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Plano (DFW), TX Tanner is a tall/athletic 2-way player as a SS/RHP. Defensively, he shows his athleticism and quick lateral movements getting to GB's hit to his right and left. He makes the plays with soft/sure hands and gathers well. Throws are strong/accurate across the diamond. With the bat, this RHH has a balanced setup with patience waiting for his pitch. He takes a hack with speed, connecting and driving the ball with pop. On the mound, Benson throws a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works quickly and repeats well. FB tops out at 69 mph and gets on hitters quick. Slider has 11/5 shape ranging from 50-68 mph. Continuing to work on the following will help him to progress on the diamond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
