12/27/2012 - Pirate City Christmas Camp and Tournament In Tanner's most recent Factory event he played the outfield and pitched. In the outfield, he gets good reads off the bat, and covers the gaps. He is a 6.9 second sixty runner that can make up for poor angles with his foot speed. Becoming more efficient with those angles will allow Tanner to work behind more balls and play through, getting more carry on his throws. At the dish, he has a strong setup, generates good bat speed and has some good power potential. Keeping his hands high and staying stacked/balanced throughout his swing will increase consistency with contact. On the mound, he throws three pitches, with his fastball topping off at 77 MPH and his 2/8 curve-ball being his most consistent off-speed pitch. Developing more consistency with his rushed arm action will help his rhythm/tempo and will allow for greater control and effectiveness. Overall, Tanner has all the tools to be a good player at the next level - he is strong, fast, works hard and is instinctual.
