07/08/2012 - Select Training at the All-Star Game Tanner continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and showed on the mound for the first time. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Feet are active as he works around and squares up ground balls. He needs to play through more while presenting hands more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. At the plate, hitting / power grades have improved through a solid setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. He needs to work to keep hands inside the ball and use his lower half more to continue to improve grades. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 66-69 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with early break. Changeup shows sinking action but is too hard. Stock on mound will continue to rise as more arm is developed.
