12/01/2023 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Tanner is a 2026 OF/RHP prospect that recently showcased his skills at the Academic All-American Tournament. He has great feel for the game and an impressive baseball IQ. In the field, he shows off good athleticism and plus movements with active feet. He takes good angles to the baseball and squares the ball off. He has a quick release and makes accurate throws with a quick arm action. He improved on his previous raw velo with a mark of 77 MPH. At the plate, he showed off great strides. He gets an activated load and tracks the ball well. He is on-time with his movements and works through the baseball with his lower half. He makes hard contact and shows off good barrel control. He showed off an impressive exit velo of 80 MPH. In game action, he reached base in 2 of 7 plate appearances with one single. On the mound he shows off a lot of confidence and feel for the position. He has a relaxed knee lift and gets on-time separation. He keeps his eyes on his target when driving to the plate. He gets great extension on his FB and has a clean arm action. He fields his position well. He struck out 2 in 2 innings of game action. He has good control of his FB on the glove side and has an array of offerings to keep hitters off balance. With a couple more years of high school ahead of him still we are expecting big things from Tanner!
