07/25/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Tanner showed well at both 3B and on the mound during his last workout with The Factory. He is an athletic 3rd baseman with quick feet, agile movements, and he fields in a low position. He has a good glove, smooth actions, and throws with accuracy and carry from a quick release. On the mound, Tanner has a deceptive delivery, he hides the ball well, and gets good extension on his pitches. He uses his lower body, his CB shows nice bite, and he competes in the zone. Offensively, Tanner has a tall set-up, good balance, and plus bat speed. He stays inside the ball well, has a direct barrel, and he can work the ball gap to gap. Tanner is a nice player and one to keep your eye on.

03/25/2018 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Tanner is a solid, athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is excellent as indicated by his 60 time of 6.82. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential with closed setup. Hands are strong (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. In the MIF, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork as he plays through balls with his body. Glove action is firm and presents well out front. Arm strength is outstanding (86 mph velocity) with accuracy and zip across the diamond as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Tanner has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
