11/18/2023 - National Showcase - San Antonio, TX Tanner is a 3B/OF prospect who will graduate in 2024. Ran his 60-yard dash in 7.02 seconds. Shows ability to flip his hips and work behind and through the baseball. Takes aggressive routes to ground balls. Made accurate and on-line throws into infield. At 3B he showed athletic actions and plays under the baseball. Is a 2-stepper at third base and fields from a square fielding position. Creates momentum on his throws to first base. Tanner hits from an athletic and open stance and shows natural juice in his swing. Doesn't get cheated in the box and hammers the pitch inner half. With another season of development, we foresee Tanner having opportunities to play at the next level.

01/08/2023 - National Showcase - San Antonio, TX Tanner is a 3B who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. At 3B, starts with a prep step and has good body control at the baseball. Works from right to left and fields from a low fielding position with hands out front. Does a good job of keeping balls in front of him. Made accurate throws to first base from an over-the-top arm slot with an arm velocity up to 76mph. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and even stance. Lower half driven swing, with good barrel path, and rotates his hips to contact point. He gets on-plane early as he squares up balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph. With another year and a half of growth and development, we see Tanner having a bright future on the baseball field.

08/04/2022 - Baseball Factory Summer World Series at the NY Mets Spring Training Complex Tanner is a 3B/2B who will graduate in 2024 out of Canyon Lake, TX. Athletic build with some strength present and frame to add more strength. At 3B, active/efficient feet and ability to create good fielding angles in all directions. Ability to pick out hops, while keeping eyes behind his glove, and fields the ball out front in low fielding position. Shows ability to throw from multiple arm slots with accurate/on-line throws across the diamond and an arm velocity of 74 mph. Showed good touch on his DP feeds. A right-handed hitter begins with an upright and open stance. Smooth swing, with a short/square stride, and gets good extension through contact. Attacks pitches on the inner half and hits hard line drives to all fields. As he continues to mature and develop, we foresee Tanner having a bright future on the baseball field.

05/15/2022 - All-In Membership - San Antonio, TX Tanner is a 3B who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build, with broad shoulders, and strength present. At 3B, starts with a good pre-pitch routine as he works to center the baseball. Works from right to left and fields from a square fielding position with a clean exchange. Has a long arm stroke and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 74mph across the diamond. Made accurate and on-line throws and he keeps his feet moving throughout throwing process. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and square stance. Starts with an athletic base and takes an aggressive swing. Showed natural power in swing as he hit balls hard to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 74mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Tanner having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
