12/09/2017 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend PHS- Columbia, MD Tanner is a hard working and very coachable player that made several adjustments during the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, Tanner starts in a tall stance and has a tendency to open his front side when he strides. His open stride causes him to fly open and pull his head off the ball. Having a shorter stride and stepping toward the pitcher will keep him directional and force him to keep his head down at contact. Tanner is a strong player and makes hard contact on the ball. Using his lower half and attacking the inside part of the ball will help him get extension through contact and drive the ball gap to gap. Tanner will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
