Tanner is an athletic SS/RHP that will graduate in 2022. At SS, Tanner shows effective footwork as he works to the ball and gets into a low fielding position. He presents his glove well and makes clean exchanges to get rid of the ball with a short arm action. His throws are consistent and online around the diamond. At the plate, Tanner shows the ability to be a serviceable switch hitter. He sets up in a square and tall stance getting a short, square stride. His rhythm is fluid as he keeps his balance centered and fires his lower half through. He gets the barrel on plane with a short path and the ability to hit to all fields. On the mound, he shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. Tanner gathers over the rubber well as he separates on time showing a quick and clean arm action. He keeps a square stride and gets good extension through release. Tanner continues to show improvement and has several years to develop.
06/14/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 14-18)
Tanner hustled and showed the ability to play multiple positions out in Omaha. At SS Tanner showed active feet with a + 1st step and agile range. He fielded the ball low and out front with clean exchanges. He gets rid of the ball quick with a clean arm action. Long tossing and getting stronger will help Tanner become a higher-level SS. At the plate Tanner showed he could swing it from both sides. Both setups were square with loose hands. He strides square and was able to extend through the pitch to make contact. On the mound tanner showed exceptional command throwing 10/11 pitches for strikes. He showed a 2-pitch mix with a FB/CB. He was square on the rubber, gathered well, and separated on time to stride in line to the target. He landed controlled and rotated through to finish his delivery. Tanner is young and shows potential to be a solid two-way player on the diamond.

Tanner is an athletic SS/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Tanner shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Consistently fielding with his hands out in front of his body can help Tanner improve defensively. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a solid swing from both sides. He sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact to all fields. Working a smoother rhythm into his load can help Tanner improve as a hitter. On the mound, Tanner gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Tanner shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 60-63mph with 10-4 break. Loosening his arm action can help Tanner improve as a pitcher. With three more years to develop, Tanner has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tanner is a lean SS/RHP who will graduate in 2022. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks ground balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter but currently projects best as a RHH. Hands are loose and work through level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 65-67 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight cutting action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. With 4 years to further develop, Tanner has potential with time and room to progress his game.
