01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Tanner continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. Throws are accurate with on line carry (85 mph velocity) to his target. He displays range (6.89 60 time), covering all of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared set. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he has strength in his swing driving ball to all fields.

11/25/2018 - College PREP - Shreveport, LA Tanner is a solid, athletic, 2-way player with very good speed. He was timed at 6.74 in the 60-yard dash. At SS, Tanner has fluid/active feet, soft/presentable hands, and he moves athletically to the ball. He takes solid angles, his exchange is clean, and he throws with carry and accuracy across the diamond. A quicker 1st step and exchange, as well as sooner pre-pitch actions will help INF skills get better. In the OF, Tanner fields athletically, his feet play well, and he gets good reads off the bat. He picks out the right hops and throws with accuracy and consistency from a long arm action to his cut off man. At the plate, Tanner has an athletic set-up, a short stride, and he finds the barrel of the bat. He has a strong/level swing and can spray the ball to all fields. Better timing, bat speed, and more lower body can help hitting numbers spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
